Apollo TFT Displays

Apollo Display Technologies is the USA subsidiary of Distec GmbH. Over the last years Apollo developed in co-operation with the US Military several versions of LED backlighted TFTs, usually based on high quality and longterm available Optrex TFTs. For production a class 1000 certified clean room has been installed. Since 2006 this technology is also available as commercial product with the same quality and at favourable prices. At the moment a range from 6.5" to 19" TFTs is re-engeneered to LED and/or transflective versions. Additionally Apollo developed special LED backlighted TFTs, which can be operated in day or night mode and are compatible to Night Vision Imaging Systems (NVIS).

LED transmissive and LED/CCFL transflective

TFT display with LED backlight provide all advantages of LEDs:

	Long backlight half-life period: up to 50.000 hrs.
	Improved performance in low temperature range: full brightness immediately after switch-on even at lower temperatures; in contrary to CCFL tubes no influence on lifetime
	Environmentally compliant: LEDs contain no mercury as CCFL tubes do.
	Better EMV features: the high and interfering frequencies of CCFL inverters do not occur with LED backlights.
	Resistant against shock and vibration
